Wayanad

Wayanad District is a district in the north-east of Kerala state, India.

This place combines different landscapes: mountains, rice plantations, nut trees, bamboo, red earth, ginger fields, rubber, cardamom and coffee plantations.

In addition of being close to the borders of Bangalore, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, Wayanda is also one of the few places you’re almost guaranteed to spot wild elephants.

It boasts a National Park; a famous lake called Pookot, placed 3 km before Vythiri; the Wayanad Heritage Museum and the Thirunelly Temple, placed 10 km far from Tholpetty  is worth a visit.
