Northern Lake Como tour from Varenna

Meeting in Varenna at 09.00 and departure by minibus / private bus to Lecco. On arrival time available for visiting the city; Lecco's celebrity is mainly tied to Alessandro Manzoni, who as a young man lived in the eighteenth-century at villa of Caleotto (now Manzonian Museum) and here he had inspiration for many pages of the novel The Betrothed. The lake and surrounding mountains make it a unique setting, both old and modern, at the same time.

You can breathe Manzoni air mainly in the Pescarenico district, which the writer described so meticulously. At 10.30, at the end of the visit, continue for Bellagio; Bellagio is without a doubt one of the most beautiful tourist resorts, not only of Lake Como but of the whole world. Its beauty has been appreciated since the sixteenth century by Italian and foreign visitors. The charm of Bellagio is first of all panoramic, because from here you embraces much of Lake Como with a gaze. Then add the beautiful villas, the scent of trees and flowers, the picturesque stairs and the variety of walks. Time for a short tour of the town and for lunch.

At 2.00 pm meeting and departure by ferry to Cadenabbia, fraction of Griante. Time to visit the majestic Villa Carlotta and its park; Villa Carrlotta's park is a place of great fascination, not only for its panoramic position but also for the harmonious combination of styles, the richness of literary suggestions that make it an unmissable destination for those who come to Lake Como.

From the seventeenth century there is the large Italian garden with high geometric cut hedges, balustrades, statues and water games; from the romantic period is the structure of the English garden, rich in precious trees of exceptional proportions and of great suggestions; at the end of the 19th century, the great plant architecture of the massive rhododendrons was introduced.

At the end we continue to Menaggio, a small town with a central square with cafés and shops and a beautiful long lake offering a unique panorama of the lake. Time to relax, take walks, and enjoy the panorama. At  5.00 pm, departure for Varenna through the panoramic road that runs beside the lake.
