Welcome to Chennai! On arrival, you will be greeted by our representative who will then help you check in to Mamallapuram. Our journey begins in Mamallapuram, a sleepy fishing village on the shores of the Bay of Bengal just south of Tamil Nadu's capital, Chennai. Though things are laid back here, Mamallapuram is home to some of southern India's most spectacular rock carvings and an ancient stone carving tradition that is very much alive till today. Your morning starts with an introduction to Yoga instructor and a Yoga session. After breakfast proceed for sightseeing, this city was a port during the Pallava period. It has some of the most beautiful rock cut temples in South India. It also is home to the famous Shore Temple that is unique because Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu are housed in the same sanctum and realistic 15,000 year-old Dravidian-age temple.
As for Arjuna's Penance, nothing can prepare you for the wonderful bas-reliefs covering two huge boulders. The exquisite detail, dating from the 7th century, depicts the flow of the Ganges down from the Himalayan Mountains as well as scenes from Indian daily life.
The Five Rathas: You won't believe that these shrines are carved whole from an outcrop of rock. Each of the five temples is dedicated to heroes from the great epic of the Mahabharata. Spend time admiring the detail of the carvings, which include Gods, humans and elephants and wonder why the temples are incomplete and were never consecrated.

Morning checkout and drive to Tiruvannamalai, an important pilgrimage center has an old temple of Lord Shiva.Tiruvannamalai is one of the Panchabhoota Stalams signifying the 5 elements of wind (Kalahasti), water (Tiruvanaikka.), fire (Tiruvannamalai), earth (Kanchipuram) and space (Chidambaram). Visit Ramana Rishi Ashram.
In a city famed for its spiritual healers, take time to meditate at the Ramana Rishi Ashram, an oasis of calm in a bustling city. Set in a peaceful location in the foothills of Arunchala, guests spend their days reading the teachings of Ramana Rishi and meditating in the lovely courtyard area. Be warned that many visitors come for a few days and find themselves staying much longer.
Overnight in Tiruvannamalai.
Drive to Trichy. Situated on the banks of the river Cauvery, Tiruchirappalli, the fourth largest city in the state was a citadel of the early Cholas, which later fell to the Pallavas. Tiruchy is a fine blend of tradition and modernity built around the Rock Fort. Apart from the fort, there are several churches colleges and missions dating back to the 1760s. With its excellent infrastructure facilities, Trichy will serve as a good base to see central Tamilnadu.
After check in, we drive to Srirangam. Sanctity is accorded to a place on the basis of its threefold popularity of the presiding deity, the quality of the holy waters and its ancient past. The holy shrine of Srirangam has allthese attributes in rich measures. Then explore Gandhi market, the wholesale farmers' market in the city.

Checkout from Isha and drive to Coimbatore Railway station to board your train to Alleppey. Looking to go on a discovery of real India? Consider a train journey, but not the first class kind. Travel with the people of “other India”, as they are sometimes referred to and get to know about varied cultures, traditions and stories from the far-off land. While a lot is said about hygiene and service of Indian railways, a train journey can prove to be really exciting, as you get to make new friends along the way.
On arrival you will be transferred to hotel. Later proceed to visit The Jewish Synagogue in what is locally called the Jew Town (closed on Friday & Saturday), the Dutch Palaces and the 15th century Chinese fishing nets believed to have been brought by Chinese traders (closed on Friday).
Overnight in Cochin. (Standard accommodation: Homestay; Superior Accommodation: Dutch Bungalow).
Morning Yoga Session and proceed for day Cruise. Houseboat Day Cruise – Take a short drive to Alleppey to embark on your private houseboat and cruise the Backwaters, a splendid area full of canals, lakes and coves. Your houseboats or ‘Kettuvalloms’ are luxurious boats with well-appointed bedrooms and en suite bathrooms. You can sunbathe on the deck or observe the palm fringed landscape from your cabins. Apart from the mesmerizing surroundings, it’s the life along the coast that adds a touch of exotica to this experience. The locals’ travel in canoes and you will find vegetable sellers, fishermen and other traders bringing household goods, door to door in small wooden boats.
Later drive back to hotel for overnight stay.
