A trip to Madagascar that will leave you speechless, a tour of the sanctuary of nature and the gem of southern Africa, starting from the magnificent Nosy Be to then leave to discover the cocoa plantations with tastings. Do not miss the trekking in the forest, the visit of national parks in the north and the close contact with the famous lemurs!
The tour ends with a visit to the island of orchids and the sea stay on one of the most beautiful beaches that can be found in the world.
Airport reception in Nosy Be, presentation and transfer to the planned hotel in Nosy Be.
Afternoon to relax.
Meeting at the hotel in Nosy Be and transfer to the port of Hellville to get on a speed boat for the 40 minute crossing to Ankify. Visit the Ambanja cocoa plantations, about 20 minutes from Ambanja. You go through a magnificent dirt track between teak trees and cocoa trees.
Organic lunch at the plantation based on typical traditional dishes. Transfer to the hotel in Antsaravibè after about 3 hours of travel. Walk of 30 - 35 min to reach the panoramic point of Ambatomiloloha. Arrived at the panoramic point, an aperitif awaits.
The tented camp is the starting point for different itineraries in the endemic nature of the Park. Trekking day in the vast territory of the West Ankarana Massif, crossing the local villages. Along the banks of the Mahatsabory lake, it is possible to spot a wide variety of rare birds and lemurs, with the possibility of visiting the chameleon caves, the Tsinghy massif in pirogue and the Tsingy viewpoint.
Lunch at the camp restaurant. We start then on board the traditional pirogue built in local wood on the Mahavavy river admiring the landscape. Overnight at the camp.
Departure north-east through the village of Isesy, plantations of sugar cane and rice fields, up to Anivorano (17 km of track - 53 km of asphalt road sometimes rough). Visit to the National Park of East Ankarana and the park of Mahamasina, about halfway between Ankify and Diego Suarez with certified guide.
Several itineraries are available including the Perte de Riviere, the Tsingy Tower, the Tsingy Rary, the Suspension Bridge and the Bat Cave. Lunch at a small typical restaurant.
Transfer to hotel in Anjahankely. The visits to the suspension bridge and to the cave of the bats are possible only for the circuits that provide the overnight stay in Ankarana.
Walk of 2.5 hours in the Andrafiamena massif, meeting different species of lemur, birds, snakes, chameleons as well as a unique flora. This circuit, called the black Propiteco, is easy along the mountain, suitable for everyone.
Alternatively, you can make the circuit of the natural pool, about 5 hours, through stretches of tropical and dry forest, reaching a waterfall that forms a magnificent natural pool. After a refreshing swim, you return to the lodge in the afternoon.
Picnic lunch.
Departure north from Anivorano, crossing rice fields, villages and landscapes up to Diego Suarez (75 km of asphalt road, sometimes rough). Visit the Tsingy Rouge Canyon, a fascinating site created by the combination of combustion, erosion and infiltration.
The Tsingy Rouge consist of stoneware, marble and limestone, in the center of the only sedimentary basin of Madagascar. Lunch in a small restaurant in the local style, on the nearby plateau.
Transfer to the hotel in Diego Suarez.
One hour by car awaits to reach the village of Ramena and one hour by traditional boat to the Emerald Sea, located north. Lunch on the virgin island and relax on the white beach. Return to Diego Suarez depending on the sea tide, before sunset.
Visit of the Amber Mountain natural park near Joffreville (1 hour from Diego Suarez) with certified guide and with a path of about 2.5 hours walking in the evergreen forest with a wet tropical microclimate. The park is home to 7 lemur species.
Lunch in a local restaurant in Joffreville.
In the afternoon stop at a monastery of Benedictine nuns from which to admire the wonderful panorama in an atmosphere of absolute relaxation. Visit to the garden of medicinal plants, from which essential oils and healing balms are obtained, according to local tradition.
Return to the hotel.
Departure for Ramena along the great bay of Diego, through the village of Ankonrikakeli, up to the Bay of Sakalava, through white sand dunes and old Baobabs. Continue to the Bay of Pigeons and to the Bay of Dunes.
You can immerse yourself in the crystal clear waters of the bays, surrounded by white beaches. Visit to the military ruins, the lighthouse, the village of Orangea. In the afternoon walk to Ramena, a quaint fishing village.
Lunch at Ramena's restaurant with fish specialties. Return to Diego Suarez in the afternoon admiring the Sugar loaf islet and mangrove stretches.
Departure from Diego Suarez heading south and arrive at Ankify to get on the boat to Nosy Be (250 km of asphalt road in some stretches), about 6 hours by car.
Boarding on a private speed boat (40 minutes of navigation), arrival at the port of Hellville. Transfer from the port of Hellville to the planned hotel in Nosy Be. Sea stay.
Excursion to the island of orchids or Nosy Sakatia which hides places much appreciated by scientists, botanists and ornithologists.
End the day at a private beach. Lunch in the shade of the numerous coconut palms, and possibility of snorkeling. Some kayaks and beach games are available, as well as a space for massages and relaxation.
Return to the hotel before sunset.
Group excursions to Nosy Komba / Tanikely.
First stop: Nosy Komba (the second largest island after Nosy Be) with the visit of the Lemurs Parc and the fishing village with traditional pirogues. You will see the school, the market of handmade fabrics, the sculptures of Nosy Komba, the small picturesque shops.
Picnic lunch. Second stop: Nosy Tanikely, protected submarine natural reserve. Just a mask and a tube are enough to immerse yourself in an incredible life-size aquarium, including corals and anemones, and a multitude of multicolored fish.
Return to the hotel before sunset.
Group excursion to Nosy Iranja by motor boat. The two islands (Nosy Iranja be and Nosy Iranja Kely) are connected by a bank of fine white sand, covered during high tides and uncovered during the low tides. The turtles come here to lay their eggs, so Nosy Iranja is also called the turtle island.
Buffet lunch among coconut palms. Possibility of visiting the lighthouse.
During the fast boat transfer, admire the virgin coastline and the kilometers of wild beaches, as well as Nosy Antsoa, an island that is still totally endemic and uninhabited.
Return to the hotel before sunset.
Transfer to the airport in Nosy Be and assistance.
The excursions, in case of bad weather or due to force majeure depending on the state of the access slopes to tourist sites, especially during the wet season, could be reversed compared to the proposed agenda or replaced with other destinations of tourist interest. Northern tours will be suspended from January 15th to March 15th due to the inaccessibility of some tourist sites.
