Tranquebar

Tharangambadi (formerly Tranquebar) is a town in Nagapattinam district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. 

It was a Danish colony from 1620 to 1845, and in Danish it is still known as Trankebar. In 1845 the town was sold to the British. It was an important port, but with the creation of the railway stations, Tranquebar lost its importance.

Two of the most characteristics things to visit in Tranquebar are: the Danish Museum, that contains porcelain ware, manuscripts, glass objects etc... and the Danish Fort.

This destination is popular also for the beaches located along the coast that together with the hotels and the other facilities provide the tourist of everything useful to have a good time there.
