Your experienced local guide will take you through some of the country’s most scenic regions, from Windhoek to Sossusvlei and on to Swakopmund, from the Skeleton Coast National Park to the Palmwag Concession, and back to Windhoek, with some amazing activities included.
Here are the highlights of your tour and holiday:
Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek, a road transfer will take you to the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve, the gateway to Namibia’s towering dunes and starry skies within the arid Namib Desert. Check into your thatched and canvas unit with a deck on the flat rooftop for sleep-outs under the stars in your desert lodge. Lunch and dinner included.
Wake up early to discover the iconic dunes of Sossusvlei and the Deadvlei with its moon-like landscape. Delight in a scrumptious lunch back at the lodge, with the rest of the afternoon to enjoy at leisure. Overnight at your lodge, full board.
Fly by light aircraft on a scenic flight (weather permitting) to the picturesque town of Swakopmund from where you will be able to explore the coastal environs. Take a stroll through the charming town and appreciate its German colonial architecture and friendly atmosphere. Overnight in a hotel, full board.
Explore the Atlantic coast with a private boat cruise from Walvis Bay to Sandwich Harbour (weather permitting) to spot diverse pelagic (ocean-going) birdlife, Cape Fur seals, and rare Heaviside's dolphins up close. In the evening, head out to one of the many charming restaurants in town, or savour a delicious meal at the hotel. Overnight at your hotel, breakfast and lunch included.
Today you will travel by vehicle up the renowned Skeleton Coast to see the attractive lichen plains at Wlotskasbaken and the remains of shipwrecks along the way, before spending the night in the Skeleton Coast National Park. Overnight in a lodge, full board.
Continue through the Skeleton Coast National Park to the Möwe Bay Museum and then head inland for more attractions, including two oases, an interesting “roaring” dune and amazing desert scenery combined with chance wildlife encounters along the way. Spend two nights in a coast camp, full board.
Another exciting adventure awaits, beginning with a road trip to Desert Rhino Camp where the rugged and mountainous topography of the Palmwag Concession brings with it the opportunity of seeing giraffe, Gemsbok (Oryx) and Springbok. Spend two days tracking rare desert-adapted Black rhinos, which are monitored and protected by the Save the Rhino Trust. Spend two nights at Desert Rhino Camp, full board.
After breakfast, depart for Doro Nawas to return by light aircraft to Windhoek. Breakfast included.
Each departure is guaranteed with a minimum of 2 guests and operates with a maximum of 7 guests. Single rates available on request. Guests need to arrive in Windhoek no later than 09h00 on Day 1; we recommend that guests overnight in Windhoek before the start of the safari. Age limits: children from the age of 12 years are welcome on the scheduled departures. For parties with children under 12 years, a private tailor-made safari is suggested.
