The term "Ayurveda" derives from Sanskrit, from the words Ayur, that is duration of life or longevity, and Veda, that is knowledge: it is therefore a question of "knowledge of life, or science of living", but not only this, because Ayurveda is a very large and complex medical system, including aspects of prevention, as well as care, which allows, if strictly applied, to live longer, to improve one's health and respect one's body.

Ayurveda is in fact concerned with the well-being of people from all points of view, therefore in their physical, mental and spiritual aspect: the purpose is to help sick people to heal themselves, and healthy people to maintain their well-being, preventing diseases.
You'll be able to discover the secrets of Ayurveda and enjoy several beauty and health treatments by specialized professionals during this trip to Sri Lanka. Moreover, during this 6 days and 5 nights tour, you will visit several cultural cities, such as Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa.
Arrival in Colombo in the morning and transfer to Dambulla (about 5 and a half hour). Hotel accommodation. In the afternoon meeting with the Ayurvedic lodge doctor with whom the program suitable for individual needs will be established, and which in any case always includes a series of basic treatments common to all (see below the inclusions).

In the morning excursion to Anuradhapura, the first Sinhalese capital, from the 4th century BC to the 10th century. Afternoon dedicated to Ayurvedic treatments.

Highlights: Anuradhapura.
In the morning visit the imposing fortress of Sigiriya (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO), built on the rock in the fifth century. It is more than 600 feet high (the climb will take a couple of hours or so, because there are more than a thousand steps!). Afternoon dedicated to Ayurvedic treatments.

Highlights: Sigiriya.
In the morning visit of Polonnaruwa (also declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO), the second ancient capital of the Sinhalese kingdom between the XI and the XIII century AD, whose temples and sculptures are among the best preserved in the country. Afternoon dedicated to Ayurvedic treatments.

Highlights: Polonnaruwa.
In the morning visit the beautiful temples carved into the caves at Dambulla (the temples are located on the top of a hill; the climb takes about 40'). At the end of the visit, with a short ride on a "crafted" catamaran on Lake Kandalama you will reach a point where one or two elephants (belonging to a private "elephant compound", exclusively open only for Mistral customers) go to take a bath together with their "mahouts": it will be possible to participate in the exciting bathing experience, playing with elephants in the water and rewarding them in the end with delicious fruit! You will then return to the main road with another typical means of transport, the tractor, and from here you will return to the Eco lodge by car. Afternoon dedicated to Ayurvedic treatments.

Highlights: Dambulla Cave Temple, Elephant Compound.
Morning still dedicated to Ayurvedic treatments; after lunch transfer to the airport in Colombo (about 5 hours and a half) and dinner at the hotel near the airport and dinner. No overnight stay. After dinner, transfer to the airport and board the night flight back to the home land.
