Nuwara Eliya / Horton Plains National Park / Nuwara Eliya (Approx. 01 hrs & 30 min)
    Day 2 Transfer by car

Morning dedicated to the World's End excursion inside the Horton Plains National Park, in the shadow of Kirigalpotta (2395 m) and Totapola (2359 m), the second and third highest mountain in the country respectively. The 'plains' form an undulating plateau, located at more than 2000 m above sea level, covered by grasslands interrupted by stretches of dense forest, rock formations, waterfalls and lakes enveloped by mists. The plateau suddenly stops at World's End, a spectacular escarpment that ends in an 880m deep precipice.

At the end of the excursion, return to Nuwara and rest of the morning at leisure for relaxation. In the afternoon visit of the pretty colonial town and its picturesque market.

Notable: the view from World's End is often obscured by fog, all year round but especially during the rainy season, from April to September: the best time to visit the site before the clouds arrive is early in the morning, so the departure from the hotel must take place around 05.30 am (transfer time from Nuwara is about 1 hour): the total route is about 9.5 km, not very demanding because almost everything is flat, and walking time is about 3 ½ hours - 4 hours. Who does not feel like it, can do the "Mini World's End", which is about 6 km overall.

Keep in mind that the weather can change abruptly, so it is advisable to bring some warm clothing against the rain. the best time to visit the site before the clouds arrive is early in the morning, therefore the departure from the hotel must take place around 05.30 am (transfer time from Nuwara is about 1 hour): the total route is about 9.5 km, not very demanding because almost everything is flat, and the walking time is about 3 hours ½ - 4 hours.
