Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with the guide. Departure for the tour of the city with visit of Edinburgh Castle, the beautiful fortress that dominates the city from its volcanic rock. Free lunch. In the afternoon optional visit to Rosslyn Chapel, beautiful chapel surrounded by mysterious legends about the Freemasons and the Templar Knights, and made famous by the filming of the movie "The Da Vinci Code". Leisure in the rest of the afternoon. Free dinner, you can attend a tipical Scottish evening. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to visit the ruins of the Royal Palace in Linlithgow. Continue to Perth, free lunch and visit Scone Palace, considered one of the largest and best preserved Scottish mansions. Even today the palace is owned by the Mansfields earls that reside there when it is closed to the public. Scone Palace was also the crowning place of Scottish kings, including Macbeth, Robert the Bruce.
Free lunch in Perth. Continue to St. Andrews and visit of its characteristic cathedral built in 1158 and located in a dominant position overlooking the bay. Continue to Dundee. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and overnight. On some dates overnight is in Carnoustie.
Breakfast in the hotel. Photo stop to admire the evocative ruins of Dunnottar Castle, situated on a breathtaking cliff overlooking the sea. Continue with the visit of Aberdeen. Free lunch. Continue in the afternoon through the valley of the Speyside and visit a famous whiskey distillery with tasting. Continue to Aviemore, arrival at the hotel, dinner and overnight. On some dates overnight is planned in Grantown on Spey.
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure for the mysterious Loch Ness, home of the legendary monster "Nessie". Visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle and short cruise on Loch Ness. Free lunch in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Afternoon drive to Fort George: military fort still used by the British army. The fort was built in 1727 to oversee the Highlands after the Jacobite rebellions and still offers stunning views over the Moray Firth. Return to Aviemore, dinner and overnight.
Breakfast in the hotel. Stop at the exterior of the Eilean Donan Castle on a small island, to be reached through a quaint pedestrian bridge in stone. The shooting of the film "Highlander" made this castle famous in the world. Out to Skye, panoramic tour of the island. Free lunch. Continuation to board the ferry to Armadale and Mallaig. Continue to Fort William through a beautiful landscape rich in green valleys. Arriving in Oban, dinner and overnight at the hotel. On some dates overnight is planned in Inveraray.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the lower part of the Highlands through lush beautiful nature. Visit Inveraray Castle and stop at Loch Lomond, the largest lake in Great Britain. Free lunch. In the afternoon it's on to Glasgow, guided visit of the city and Kelvingrove art gallery. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
