Bedugul

Bedugul is the name used to recognize a wide highlands in the centre of the island of Bali, around the namesake village.

It presents a rare natural beauty. The main sights are the three crater lakes of Bratan, Buyan and Tamblingan and the botanic gardens of Candikuning e Jatiluwih, which present lush rice field and magnificent natural terraces.

Walking through a arduous pathway (about four hours uphill and four hours downhill) you can reach the top of the Gunung Catur (2096 m), where the Pura Puncak Mangu is set. It is an ancient temple inhabited by monkeys. It overlooks the surrounding area and offers you a breath-taking view.
