    Bergamo – Bellagio - Varenna - Lecco
    Day 1

Meeting of participants in Bergamo at 08.00 and departure by minibus / private bus for Bellagio.

Bellagio is without a doubt one of the most beautiful tourist resorts, not only of Lake Como but of the whole world. Its name recalls the undeniable charm of a small hamlet with small lanes nad many local craft shops that offers a long lakeshore where to imagine the beautiful life of a bygone time. Thanks to the fact that you are in the middle of Lake Como, Bellagio offers a 360 ° panoramic view of the alpine peaks, especially on the eastern branch of the lake, where you can see the peaks of Grigna, Grignone, Grignetta, Legnone and the Alps.

The old village, where ancient and suggestive dwellings are found, is full of mysterious alleys with cobbled staircases on which colorful shops overlook.

Time available for visiting Villa Melzi and its fantastic gardens; before reaching the villa, you walk along a tree-lined avenue, shaded by trees, cut as umbrellas, allowing you to enjoy a walk. Once you reach the large terrace facing the villa you can admire the landscape of the lake center and the harmony and sobriety of the building accessed through a scenic staircase.

The park's visit meets both artistic and landscaping interests. Rich in species of flowers, plants and trees, with exotic essences, typical of the taste of the time, it was designed between 1808 and 1810 by architect Luigi Canonica and botanist Luigi Villoresi. The part transformed into an oriental garden with a pond of water lily is charming, particularly suggestive in the colors of autumn, the avenue of mirrored planar trees on the lake and azaleas.

At the end of the visit, at 12.30 am, there is time to have lunch in one of the many restaurants on the lake.

At 2.30 pm at the end of lunch, boat ride to Varenna and time to visit the town.

The village, with its colorful houses, is perched on the mountain dominated by the ruins of the castle of Vezio, one of the most beautiful medieval castles of Lario. You will see "Passeggiata dei Innamorati", "the walk of love", which leads to the center of the village. Varenna boasts magnificent villas where you can visit charming cypress gardens.

At 4.00 pm continue to Lecco and time to visit the city; Lecco's celebrity is mainly tied to Alessandro Manzoni, who lived in the eighteenth-century in villa Caleotto (now Manzonian Museum) and here he had inspiration for many pages of his novel. The lake and surrounding mountains make it a unique setting, both old and modern, at the same time. Manzoni's time can still be felt mainly in the Pescarenico district, which the writer described so meticulously.

At 6pm departure for the return to Bergamo.
