Carloforte
Second island of the archipelago of the Sulcis, the island of San Pietro hosts the wonderful little town of Carloforte, nominated in the Italian circuit of the most beautiful villages. Immersed in emerald waters, rich of precious corals and giant red tunas, the island is inflamed by characteristic yellow ochre and violet rocks.
There are many amazing spots to visit in Carloforte, but we can mention the high district on top of the hill with its walls and the Lion Gate. In the centre, there is a Church Madonna of the Slaves and its clefts populated by boutiques just like in the Italian Riviera. Finally, the delicious seafront with the promenade around the marina and the monument to Carlo Emanuelle II, the Archiottu. Towards south, you will find the Tower of San Vittorio, which is also an astronomical observatory, and the Church of Novelli, dedicated to a Crusade of very young soldiers in 1212.
