Caprera
Caprera is a small island belonging to the Maddalena Archipelago. The island was probably called "Caprera" due to the several wild goats living on it (in Italian "goat" means capra).
This island has been proclaimed a natural reserve; in fact, it is the home of some particular species of seabirds, as royal seagull, cormorant and peregrine falcon. On the island there is an important sailing school, Centro Velico Caprera, and on the south-western side there are many coves and anchorages for those arriving in sailing boat.
