Victoria Falls in the Zambesi River and on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. And on seeing the “Mosi oa Tunya - Smoke that Thunders” for the first time, it is clear why. The falls are 1 688 m wide with an average of just over 100 m in height. An average of 550 million litres of water cascade over the lip every minute – a sight only appreciated by seeing it yourself!

    Arrival
    Day 1

The guide will meet you at the arrivals hall in the airport with a bottle of cold water. After ensuring that everyone has their luggage we transfer to our accommodation in town. We check into our accommodation and after freshing up and perhaps a swim in the pool, we depart on a twenty-minute walk down to the Falls. En route we stop for a quick snack to eat (own expense).

A walk in the Victoria Falls National Park is a highlight of the tour. We get up close to the power of the falls and view it from different angles.

Dinner tonight is at the well-known The Boma Eating House (own expense). This will prove to be one of your greatest dining experiences of all time. We depart from the lodge at 18:30.

The Boma specialises in traditional African food, and the main course buffet offers mouth-watering grilled ostrich, buffalo curry, suckling pig on the spit, guinea fowl, game stew, kudu steak and even warthog fillet! There are also good vegetarian options, with bush and garden vegetables galore. There is something for everyone. The food is cooked and served in the style and quantity of a lavish feast, including irresistible desserts, so prepare to eat your fill! If you’ve overindulged, though, don’t worry – you can work it off in the energetic drumming circle that starts at nine o’clock, which usually turns into an even more energetic dance party. If that isn’t your cup of tea, the restaurant also has a lively bar.

Victoria Falls tour and Zambezi river cruise
    Day 2

We wake up to the sound of Africa. A delicious breakfast next to the pool awaits us. After breakfast, we will head into town and visit the wonderful craft market and explore the town of Victoria Falls on foot.

Lunch (own expense) is at the beautifully located Lookout Café overlooking the Batoka Gorge underneath the Falls.

At 15:30 we depart to the Zambesi River for our sunset cruise. The cruise of two hours include all local drinks. We enjoy beautiful views of the river and adjoining riverine forest, birdlife as well as the opportunity to see hippo’s, crocodiles and other wildlife (elephants are often seen crossing the river). As the sun sets over the Zambesi, we imagine life as a constant adventure holiday.

On returning from the cruise, we head to town for dinner (own expense). In general, the group is in such a great party mood afte the cruise, that dinner is the last thing on our mind. Let’s go to town for a dance and a drink.
