Morning: Arrival in the town of Vesime at the meeting place agreed at 8.45 am, departure for the tour

Lunch: Lunch at about half way

Afternoon: End of the tour with return to the town of departure, Vesime.

Description

The arrival is scheduled in the early morning, meeting on the central square of Vesime at 8:45.
The path winds along secondary roads partly unpaved, the first village you cross is Olmo Gentile with the Tower and the Castle. The quadrangular tower, in sandstone, dates back to about the twelfth century and at its top on all sides solid stone supports protrude, which served to uphold a now disappeared gallery.

The residential structure, the castle, was begun in 1681, on one of its walls the frame of the ancient gateway to the fortified village that collapsed in 1951 remains.
After a few kilometers uphill, you reach the center of Roccaverano. Along secondary roads partly unpaved we arrive at Olmo Gentile, from here, after a few kilometers uphill, we reach the center of Roccaverano, a characteristic town of Asti area that dominates the surrounding Langa Astigiana from its 800m. The 30m tower is surrounded by the recently renovated castle walls of which it was a part.

In the area below the castle the small village develops, made of small houses built with the famous Langa stone. The heart of the town is Piazza Barbero where it is possible to admire the sixteenth-century church of Santa Maria Annunziata, built in Renaissance style, whose facade is attributed to Bramante.
After the lunch break to regain strength, for those who need it, we head to Serole, crossing a small unpaved road that reaches the top of Bric Puschera.
Recognizable from afar, with its 851m, this is the highest point of the province of Asti. From its summit you can admire the panorama as far as the eye can see, ranging from the Ligurian Apennines to all the Piedmont Alps.

The Bric Puschera is the highest hill of the Langa Astigiana and is characterized by a grove of spruces, a dark spot that makes it recognizable even from a distance. At the top there are also two tables with benches where you can rest.
On the last stretch, the descent in the direction of Cortemilia, home of the Hazelnut of Langa, you have the opportunity to stop for an "energy-drink" or some hazelnut tasting and then return to Vesime.
