Addo
Addo Elephant National Park is located in the Western Cape province of South Africa, 70 km from Port Elizabeth, and is renowned for the presence of elephants, although there are all the Big 7 (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard, whale and white shark). In the park there are also several species of antelopes, cheetahs and hyenas. The main feature that distinguishes the female elephants of the park from all other specimens is the absence of tusks, due to the restricted genetic basin from which these elephants descend, only 11 specimens. These elephants had small tusks and were therefore spared by hunters, managing to survive, breed and populate the area.
