A magnificent tour of Piedmont, Italy, exploring Langhe hills, visiting Grinzane castle and enjoying delicious food and wine.
Arrival in the early afternoon in the Bassa Langa, historical territory that became part of the UNESCO Heritage, with Alba representing its largest urban center. These lands are renowned for their wines, truffles, typical products and splendid landscapes characterized by the vineyards that symbolize this land and the union between man and the territory in which he lives.
Upon arrival, check-in at the property. Following in the afternoon free time to visit Alba, also known as the city of a hundred towers, a name inherited from the old walls that surrounded the city and its millennial history.
It is possible to walk through the alleys of the historic center and the central Via Vittorio Emanuele, the pulsating heart of the city that connects Piazza Savona to the suggestive Piazza Risorgimento where the Palazzo Comunale and the Duomo of Alba are located. Along the way it is possible to go shopping and buy typical products.
For dinner we offer a restaurant / tavern where you can taste local products and typical Piedmontese dishes accompanied by local wines.
The second day is dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of these territories. In the morning there is a visit to the castle of Grinzane in the small town of Grinzane Cavour, birthplace of the famous Renaissance statesman Camillo Benso count of Cavour. Here you can visit the castle, an ancient fortification dating back to the first half of the thirteenth century, the Ethnographic Museum and the regional wine cellar located inside.
For lunch, we offer typical menu with traditional cuisine at local area. In the afternoon transfer to Barolo, small and rich town of the Langhe famous for the homonymous wine that you can taste at the regional wine shop inside the castle of the Marchesi Falletti dating back to the tenth century, which also houses the historical library ordered by Silvio Pellico and the Museum of Contadinerie.
In the afternoon there will be a visit to the WIMU museum located inside the castle of Barolo. Also immediately below the entrance of the castle you can access the regional wine shop, tasting not included in the package.
At the end of the day free time for dinner in the Langhe.
On the last day of your stay you will have to check out in the morning, transfer to San Cassiano (hamlet of Alba) for a visit to a characteristic local winery, after which a tasting is scheduled.
