Short tour dedicated to a tasting itinerary between Langhe and Roero in Piedmont, Italy.
This experiential tour will give you the chance to get to know and taste the Nebbiolo wine, one of the most cultivated vines in Piedmont, whose grapes give life to three great wines of the Langhe and Roero: Barolo, Barbaresco and Roero.
The first part of the day is focused on the lands of Barolo in which the aforementioned grape gives life to this famous wine.
The arrival is scheduled in the morning in Monforte d'Alba. This village is located in a splendid position, characterized by the arrangement of the houses of the historical part close to the slopes of the hill on which the village stands.
At a characteristic farm near the village it will be possible to immerse yourself in the history and the wines that have made it famous since 1800, when Barolo began to be exported and made known all over the world.
The tour begins with a visit to the surrounding vineyards, followed by a visit to the museum that will take you through the history of the company and its founder, up to the present day. You will reach the cellar and the barrel cellar where the precious wines are kept.
At the end of the visit, it will be possible to taste Barolo of different years.
For lunch we recommend the transfer to Barolo, a small and rich town of the Langhe. The structure that encloses the heart of this village is the castle of the Marchesi Falletti dating back to the tenth century, which also houses the historical library ordered by Silvio Pellico and the WiMu museum. Under the castle there is also the regional wine shop (not included in the package).
At the end of the day, in the afternoon, transfer to Castellinaldo (CN), a small town of the Roero with Roman origins. Once it was probably a crossing point of a route connecting Asti to Pollenzo. In this territory the Nebbiolo vine gives life to Roero, a precious wine that takes its name from the territory in which it is expertly produced.
Near this small and characteristic village, a visit to a farm is scheduled in the late afternoon, where it will be possible to take a walk (optional) among the vineyards. The focus of the visit is the tasting accompanied by a "Merenda Sinoira", typical and abundant snack based on typical products of the area. At the end of the experience in this company, it is also possible to request dinner according to personal needs.
Overnight stay at the same farm in Castellinaldo.
On the morning of the second day, once the check-out has been completed, the transfer to Barbaresco will take place where it will be possible to know the third famous wine obtained from the Nebbiolo vine: Barbaresco.
Monument symbol of the village is the tower built at the end of the eleventh century, where today you can take a multimedia journey to discover the Barbaresco, a sensory experience up to the top of the tower where a panoramic terrace allows you to enjoy the surrounding landscape. At the end of the visit it will be possible to taste four Barbaresco wines of different years in the winery near the tower.
