Viñales

Viñales is a small cuban village located in the north-central part of Pinar del Río.

Its landscape is characterized by low mountains and mogotes, typical outcrops.

Viñales attracts every year a large number of visitors, the most popular attraction is the Viñales Valley, it has been declared national monument in 1978 and in 1999 it was inserted in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The valley shows karst landscape and traditional agriculture as well as local architecture, crafts and music.

Other worth visiting are the Museo Municipal,  Casa de Caridad Botanical Gardens, Museo Paleontológico, Palenque and the nearby suggestive caves, as Cueva del Indio, Cueva de José Miguel and Cueva de Santo Tomás.
