Grado

Grado is a town in the north-east of Italy. It belonging to the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located on a lagoon island of the Adriatic Sea.

As in the past, nowadays Grado is a working fishing port with a suggestive historic centre. It attracts many tourists, that have several possibilities to spend their time.

Grado offers a suggestive inland, points of cultural interest and pretty sandy beaches. The main beach is quite big, wide and sandy, while the Spiaggia Costa Azzurra is smaller, sandy but the water is deeper compare to the other.

Worth seeing spots in Grado are: the 6th-century Cathedral, with its Lapidarium and Baptistry, the complex is located in a suggestive little square, Campo dei Patriarchi. It represents the old historic heart centre of the city, characterized by lanes and courtyards, typical fishermen houses, tortuous pathways, little squares and staircases garnished with colourful flowers.

Another suggestive location is the Isola di Barbana, here was built a church, that is a popular pilgrimage destination.
