Spetses

Spetses is a greek island located in the Mediterranean Sea. It is famous for its naval tradition and for the relevant contribution to the 1821 War of independence, this is why in September the inhabitants re-enact the naval battle.

Its landscape is characterized by low hills covered by pines, beautiful beaches and crystal clear water. Some of most wonderful beaches are: Ayioi Anargyroi, a large beach with turquois and deep sea, it offers many water sport facilities and Vréllos, an amazing sandy beach, it looks like a real paradise, from this place you can start a nice walking route towards Profitis Elias, the highest place on Spetses.

To schedule your visit on Spetses you can not miss the visit to the House of Bouboulina, an heroine during the War of Independence; the House of Hatzigiannis Mexis, where are located many tools used during the war and the Cathedral of Ayios Nikolaos, that has a big importance, in fact here the Independence flag was raised on 3rd April 1821.
