Porto Jofre is the place to see them even though sightings are never guaranteed (but still, success rates are extremely high!). You can spend your time here exploring the surrounding areas delving deep into Pantanal - the largest wetland area in the world.

To maximise your chance of sighting the jaguar, the tour includes night drives, jungle treks, river boat safaris and horse riding.
After your arrival into Cuiaba you will be met at the airport by your guide who will transfer you to Caceres and onwards to Taiama Ecological Reserve where you will board the Jaguar House Boat along the north side of Taiama Island along the Paraguay River. Overnight: Jaguar House Boat - (D)
Enjoy two full days of boat excursions into the Taiama Ecological Reserve and its channels looking for jaguars and other wildlife. This is one of the best areas in Pantanal to see jaguars, as well as birds, caiman and capybaras. Overnight: Jaguar House Boat - (B/L/D)
This morning you will travel north via Caceres to Pocone to join the Transpantaneira Highway onwards to Araras Lodge. Along this 145 kilometre long dirt road through the heart of the Pantanal, ending at the Cuiaba River in Jofre, you may see families of capybaras, caimans and water birds.
You’ll arrive at Araras Lodge – a great base for exploring the Pantanal’s wild north.Overnight: Araras Lodge - (B/L/D)
Two full days to explore the region, enjoying a variety of excursions accompanied by an expert naturalist guide. Explore the waterways on a canoe, try piranha fishing, or ride horseback. This way, you will come into close contact with the resident flora and fauna on a walk, enjoy a jeep safari or head out at night with a spotlight to see some of the nocturnal species of the area. Each evening you will gather and decide what you want to do the next day and learn about the local culture and wildlife. Overnight: Araras Lodge - (B/L/D)
After breakfast continue south down the Transpantaneira Highway to Porto Jofre. En route you will stop and enjoy the views looking out for wildlife. Arrive at your hotel and spend the evening relaxing and exploring the sorrounds, often frequented by Hyacinth macaws and toco toucans. Overnight: Hotel Porto Jofre - (B/L/D)
Spend the next two days searching jaguars. From Jofre you will head out on boats: they are often seen in the heat of the day sunning themselves on the river banks. Porto Jofre is the best place in the world to see these elusive cats in the wild. After your excursions you head back to the hotel and relax. Overnight: Hotel Porto Jofre - (B/L/D)
