Bangkok with its breathtaking beauty and sorroundings, Kanchanaburi and its nature and luxury resorts on the river, the accommodation on Kwai river: the guide will show the highlights of the country, from Ayutthaya to Sukhothai and Chiang Mai up to the farthest north in Chiang Rai, passing through historic sites that have marked the country. And finally reach a special island, Phuket, the largest, with its white beaches offering the well deserved mix of sun, sea and relax.
Today you'll visit the main attractions of this very busy and populated city, which can still offer unique places and emotions. You'll start off with the Royal Palace then visiting temples, the golden mountain and Jim Thompson's house, a complex made up of different old Thai houses created by the American businessman Jim Thompson to host his art collection.
Speaking of Bangkok markets, one might easily think that they are located within the city, but they are instead outside and it takes over an hour to reach the area. After the markets you'll head to Kanchanaburi, one of the most loved provinces in the country.
Visit world-famous Kwai River Bridge and Hell Pass. Overnight at River Kwai Jungle Raft, your accommodation on Kwai river, an unconventional resort for some well deserved rest.
Day in the nature and visit to Erawan falls sorrounded by forest. Detour to the tallest stupa in Thailand, a fundamental place for the rise of Buddhism in Thailand, Nakhon Pathom, the cradle of Buddhism in Thailand, west of Bangkok and north of the markets. Return to Bangkok.
Ayutthaya, Wat Muang, the tallest Buddha statue in Thailand and the ninth tallest statue in the world and finally Lopburi, the city of monkeys, so called because 2000 monkeys wander around the town populated by 20,000 people. Then it's on to Sukhothai, in the heart of the country.
Visit another historic gem today: Sukhothai, with temples and Buddha statues of incredible beauty; after Ayutthaya, this is another archaeological park recognized by Unesco. Not only will you visit the park but also other interesting complexes outside.
Today visit the beautiful temples of Chiang Mai, almost all within the city walls. After lunch in a special location visit the artisan village famous for handmade and hand-painted umbrellas, while admiring also other local products. Finally visit a temple that only few people know, a gem hiddem in the hills, Wat Pha Lang.
Today you will meet the elephants in the right environment among the mountains at Doi Inthanon Elephant Sanctuary. In the afternoon visit King & Queen Pagoda, the tallest pagoda in Thailand.
Doi Inthanon National Park is a very evocative place where you'll see local populations involved in a project aimed at supporting quality farming and then the waterfalls on the highest mountain of Thailand.
Reaching Chiang Rai, the jounrey north is completed. After the visit to the magnificent White Temple, you'll be close to the border: here the Mekong divides the territory and you'll catch sight of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos with one glance. The Golden Triangle, that until a few years ago was devoted to massive opium cultivation, has been wisely turned into a popular tourist attraction. Overnight in Chiang Rai.
In due time you'll be transferred to Chiang Rai airport for the flight to Phuket, the Pearl of the Andaman Sea, the largest island in Thailand and the most developed for tourists, with hundreds of resorts and restaurants, as well as activities such as shopping facilities, discoes and tour of the most famous islands.
Phuket has been growing as no other place in South East Asia becoming an international destination famous all over the world in a few years.
