Barcelona
Barcelona is the capital city of the community of Catalonia in Spain. It is the largest metropolis on the Mediterranean Sea.
The landscape of the city is really heterogeneous, it presents mountains, Tibidabo is the highest and offers a suggestive view over the city, rivers and coastline, characterized by golden sandy beaches and beautiful sea.
Barcelona beaches are the most beautiful beaches of a city, according to National Geographic and Discovery Channel. The most famous beach is Barceloneta Beach, an unorganized beach with several bars and restaurants. Here you can enjoy every kinds of water sports, windsurfing and kite surfing are the most popular.
In addition, Barcelona is an important city under the cultural aspect. In 1999 Barcelona won the RIBA Royal Gold Medal for its architecture, in fact it has many points of interest presented in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and belonging to the modern architecture. Once in Barcelona you should visit all the beautiful projects of Gaudì as well as the other main sights. Projected by Gaudì you can find: Park Güell, Palau Güell, Casa Milà, Casa Batllò, Casa Vincens and the international symbol of Barclona: the Sagrada Familia.
While, other worth-seeing places are: the Gothic Quarter, the city centre of the old Barcelona, here the buildings medieval and roman characteristics; the several interesting museums and the Olympics City.
As in the whole Spain, you have to taste the excellent and tasty local cooking, savoring tapas in one of the many locals on the Ramblas or eating paella in one of the many restaurants in front of the sea. Barcelona offers to its tourist also many clubs and pubs where enjoying their night.
Thanks to its versatility Barcelona is capable of seducing even the most restrained visitors.
