Tour of Menaggio, Bellagio, Varenna and Lecco, departure from Milan

Meeting in Milan at 8 am and departure by private bus for Menaggio.

Brief stop in this stunning village, which is an amazing spot to discover the beauties of Lake Como, thanks to its central position. Menaggio's historic centre is divided in two parts, the higher part, which is characterized by medieval alleys, and the lower part lapped by the lake, which is more touristic and characterized by XIX-century buildings.

At 10.15 am meeting and departure by boat for Bellagio.

Bellagio, known as "the Pearl of Lake Como", is one of the most famous and romantic localities of Como and its surroundings. Its enchanting location, together with its elegant hotels and picturesque alleys attract every year many tourists coming from all the world. To be visited is the XIX century Villa Melzi, reachable in 10 minutes on foot from the jetty. Before reaching the villa, we have to walk along a tree-line boulevard, at the shadow of umbrella-shaped planes. Once arrived at the large terrace in front of the mansion, it is possible to admire the landscape and the architectural harmony of the building, reachable through a scenographic staircase. The visit of the park meets both artistic and panoramic interests. It was designed around 1808 - 1810 by architect Luigi Canonica and botanist Luigi Villoresi, it is studded by colorful flowers, plants and trees, exotic essences, typical of the taste of that time. The part resembling an Oriental garden with a water lily pond is really charming, and particularly evocative during the autumn season.

At the end of the visit, around 12 pm, we'll enjoy free time to have lunch choosing among one of the different restaurant located on the lakeside. This different restaurants offer local and traditional dishes, from lake fish, typical of the lake, to polenta, game, mushroom and cheese, typical of this valleys.

Varenna, the most romantic hamlet on Lake Como, welcomes us with its unique appearance: a compact group of houses located at the foot of a rock wall, on whose peak is Vezio Castle. The legend says that Queen Theodelinda lived here. Varenna overlooks an awesome cove and it is connected to the jetty through an hanging pedestrian path on the lake, called "Lovers' walk".

At the end of the visit, at 4 pm, the itinerary takes us to Lecco, where we'll enjoy free time to discover the town. Lecco is famous for being the set of the first Italian novel by Alessandro Manzoni, The Betrothed. Anyway, Lecco is more than only "That branch of the lake of Como which extends southwards...". In fact, Lecco is also rich in history and culture, which can be discovered visiting the city museums.

Strolling along the central alleys, it is possible to breathe in the neoclassic style belonging to Bovara. He left its elegant sign, which mixes itself with the remains of the old fortified hamlet, starting from the Azzone Visconti Bridge.

Behind all that, the most valuable aspect of Lecco is the amazing landscape it provides: a magical framework between the blue lake and the green mountains.
