Nepal - Useful information for your trip

Welcome to Nepal, a peaceful mystic enclave in the Himalayan mountains, nesteld between two giants, India and China. Nepal is often a travel extension of many trips to North India, but its cultural and natural heritage often make it the perfect destination for a complete holiday even remaining within its boundaries.

As soon as you get here, you will notice that Nepal is a unique place in the world, rich with history and traditions, where you can gaze from a 26,000 ft peak to a Buddhist monastery, from a Hindu temple to a coloured local market. You can visit it 365 days a year, but the best time is during our intermediate seasons, spring and autumn. Temperatures are always pleasant, and even during the winter a light parka is enough in the fresh evening breeze, unless you decide to go trekking intensively to Everest's or Annapurna's base camps.

Touring the country is not easy, because of the poor public transportation and the language, but the cost for a car and a driver is really small. A tailormade tour or vacation in Nepal is certainly recommended for those who love climbing and nature hikes: here you will be able to tackle the highest peaks in the world (surely an achievement to be remembered for life). On the other hand, a vacation in Nepal has much to offer also to those who do not want to go trekking and wish to get lost in the culture and colors of Kathmandu Valley. In this case, 4 or 5 days are enough to visit rural towns and cities, in the silence of monasteries taking part to rituals like a cremation on the river in Pashupatinath or animal sacrifices in the Dakshinkali Temple, maybe after a tour of North India.

The city of Kathmandu still shows timeless charm, from fabulous Durbar Square, a real open-air museum with its sacred monuments, to the Monkey Temple, one of the most famous symbols of Nepal. At Chitwan National Park you can take a safari and look for the Bengala tiger among other animals, while, reaching Pokhara lake, you will be amazed in front of the beautiful landscape and you can also try rafting on the waters.

The peaceful smiling local inhabitants will surely impress you. They are always ready to receive new visitors, with a purity and spontaneity that must come from a deep sense of religiousness, maybe fed by the beauty of the nature in which Nepales people are born and bred, in front of the highest peaks on the planet.
