It will be an unforgettable holiday, here are the highlights of the itinerary:
Arrival at Mexico City International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Full day visit of Mexico City and Totihuacan archaeological site. A visit to "Zocalo" is also scheduled: it is the main square with the Cathedral and National Palace. You'll then visit Templo Mayor and the Church of Our Lady of Guadelupe, Mexico's patron and main pilgrimage center in Latin America.
Lunch at a local restaurant. At the end you'll visit Teotihuacan with the imposing Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Travel by private transport to Puebla and visit the town, which is famous for its baroque churches and local pottery. Lunch at a local restaurant. At the end proceed to Oaxaca. Overnight in hotel.
Full day visit of the surroundings of Oaxaca, starting with Mitla, an old Mixteca site, with a stop along the way to appreciate the "Tule", a magnificent tree considered the oldest tree in the world. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will continue to Monte Albán, religious capital of the Zapotecas. Built on a hill, this place is known for its pyramids, tombs and with a beautiful panoramic view. Return to Oaxaca at sunset and lodging.
In the morning there will be time to visit the historic center of Oaxaca. At noon departure to the Pacific Sea, where you arrive in the afternoon to the port of Tehuantepec. Overnight in hotel.
After breakfast departure to the state of Chiapas. Stop at Chiapa de Corzo included to visit the Sumidero Canyon aboard the local boats. Lunch at a local restaurant. Overnight in San Cristobal de las Casas.
Visit the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, situated a few kilometers from San Cristobal. A visit of the city and local market is also scheduled: here you will admire the handicraft work of local natives, as well as famous churches, such as the Baroque Santo Domingo church. Lunch in a local restaurant and dinner at the hotel.
Today we will descend from the mountains of Chiapas through green valleys. Scheduled stop to admire the cascades of Agua Azul and for lunch at a local restaurant. Arrival in Palenque and accommodation in hotel.
Breakfast. Morning dedicated to visiting the ruins, surrounded by thick jungle: monuments include the Temple of the Inscriptions, built on a series of pyramids and tomb of famous king Pakal, the great palace with the tower, probably an observatory, and the Temple of the Cross. Lunch.
In the afternoon travel to Campeche, with a short stop at the old town with a typical colonial atmosphere. Check in to the hotel.
The first stop is due at Uxmal archaeological area, one of the most important testimonies of the Mayan civilization. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon arrive in Merida, the capital of the state of Yucatan, the "white city", so called because of its colonial buildings.
Stop over at the "zocalo" to see the Cathedral, the Government building, the City Hall and Montejo's House. Overnight in a hotel.
On the way to Cancun, you will visit Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza is undoubtedly the best-preserved Maya site on the Yucatan peninsula. It is not only recognized as UNESCO World Heritage, it was also recently declared one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. It's definitely one of the most iconic buildings of the country, a site that can´t be missed on a trip to Mexico. Various different architectural styles are seen in Chichen Itza. Most famous landmarks are the Temple of Kukulkan (“El Castillo”), the Ballgame Court, the Platform of the Skulls, the Temple of the Jaguar, the Observatory, the One Thousand Columns, and the Sacred Cenote.
Lunch at a local restaurant near the archaeological site, and arrival in Cancun.
Breakfast, transfer to the airport and departure.
