Ponza
Ponza is the larges island of the Pontine Islands archipelago. It is located in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
According to the legends, its name comes from Pontius Pilate, an ancient roman governor of Judea.
Ponza is the remains of an extinct volcano. It owns only one large beautiful beach called Half Moon Beach and many other small beaches. Its ground is characterized by rocks and pebble made of kaolin and tuff.
The island is famous for its Blue Grottoes, formed by the Etruscans and many other archaeological ruins.
