Guatemala - Travel tips

The best thing about Guatemala is perhaps the fact that it has long remained out the main tourist circuits and this allowed to keep the customs, habits and natural landscapes of this magical land in Central America practically unchanged. A trip to Guatemala is a holiday for travellers looking for genuine experiences exploring the vast Maya archaeological sites and heterogeneous nature, majestic volcanoes, placid lakes and colonial cities and receiving warm hospitality from the locals.

Visiting Guatemala will take you back in time: stroll the narrow alleys of its cities, in Guatemala City, the capital, or quaint Antigua, and you will feel like you are still living the Spanish colonial period, among large churches recalling lost ages and local markets where traditions are still alive. In famous Chichicastenango market you will meet the local population selling local products, while at Atitlan Lake you will remain speechless in front of the three volcanoes rising from its shores, inhabited by different ethnic groups. Visit Tikal archaeological area and get lost among the Mayan pyramids dreaming of a grand past.

Perhaps not many people know that you can visit Guatemala also for its fabulous beaches, where you can relax and enjoy the crystal-clear sea practicing every kind of water sports. You will fall in love with the sunset on the ocean, sorrounded by a peaceful atmosphere under the light shade of a green palm tree, maybe sipping a delicious local cocktail.

Guatemala will be able to bring you to another world, away from the stressful and chaotic daily life. Do not miss the chance to design your tailormade tour and vacation with our local travel experts. Why visit Guatemala

Guatemala is perhaps the most characteristic country in which to visit the Mayan ruins. It is the least affected by tourism and where natural beauty and archaeological sites are still authentic. Its geography ranges from the plains of the north, to the highlands and to the most mountainous areas that include large lakes and volcanoes, the highest among these is the Tajumulco of 4200 m above sea level.

The north hosts the main Maya's settlements such as Tikal archaeological site, undoubtedly one of the most impressive of Central America. The huge pyramids built by the Maya stand out among the over 3000 temples forming this archaeological complex of over 16 square kilometres.
