Brunei is a country in Asia with Bandar Seri Begawan as a capital city.
Brunei is a country located on the island of Borneo in Asia, overlooking the South China Sea. Its capital is Bandar Seri Begawan. The country is essentially made up of a very humid coastal plain and a small portion of mountains to the east, whose highest point is Mount Bikit Pagon (1850 m). 85% of the land is forest, crossed by two major rivers, the Tembrong and Sungai Belait.
The climate is equatorial, hot and very humid. Much of the natural territory is under environmental protection. The wildlife includes monkeys, many species of birds, including fast birds of prey, and reptiles. The flora ranges from green forests to coral reefs, the delight of ecotourism lovers. Ulu Temburong National Park must also be mentioned, in the Temburong district, 49 thousand hectares of land inhabited by many species of fauna and crossed by streams.
The economy of Brunei is based primarily on oil, which has enabled the country to achieve great wealth, so that no tax is required to its population and the education and health systems are free of charge. Brunei is also considered one of the tax havens. The main means of transport are those by sea or along the coastal roads. Within the country the roads are not paved and are not usually much beaten.
Tourism is not widespread because of the strict Islam adopted by the Sultanate. During a trip to Brunei, however, do not miss the beaches and numerous natural beauties, parks and coral barrier. Brunei is also the destination of a certain elite tourism, being a little paradise on earth dedicated to pomp and luxury. In the capital Bandar Seri Begawan do not miss the wonderful Sultan Palace and the flashy Mosque.
