Trinidad and Tobago and other smallest islands form the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, located in the Caribbean Sea in Central America.

The islands are characterized by wide plains and some mountainous areas; El Cerro del Aripo is one of the highest points of the country, with its 940 meters above sea level. The tropical climate provides warmth during the whole year. It has two main seasons: a dry one, from January to May, and the rainy one, during the other months. Trinidad and Tobago are located just outside the hurricane zone, this is why these islands are not very subject to this natural phenomenon.

Trinidad and Tobago are rich in natural beauties and amazing landscapes, which are safeguarded and protected in natural parks. Blue Basin is one of the most charming places in Trinidad. Here, it is possible to admire a beautiful waterfall that dumps into a deep turquoise basin surrounded by lush vegetation. In the reserve of Bird of Paradise, in Little Tobago, it is possible to discover this colourful tropical bird. The beaches in Trinidad and Tobago boast long sweeps of white sand lapped by a crystal-clear sea. Those located in Tobago are less crowded, they are suitable for those who are looking for relax; those in Trinidad are more popular and equipped for every kind of water sports. Among all beaches, Matura and Manzanillla Beach are unmissable.

Worth visiting is also the capital city, Port of Spain. It is rich in historical attractions, such as the Holy Trinity Cathedral, a Gothic church built in 1832 and the current Parliament designed according to a neo-Renaissance style. This city also offers museums and interesting art galleries, showing both ancient pre-Columbian articrafts and old local clothes used during the Carnival, one of the most important festivals on the island. Scarborough, the capital of Tobago, offers the majestic Fort King George, a symbol of the battles that saw United Kingdom against France, in order to gain control of the islands.
