Egypt - Useful information for your trip

Egypt is a country mainly located in the African continent, but it also owns a land strip, the Sinai Peninsula, in the southwest corner of Asia. The country is lapped by the Mediterranean Sea on the North and by the Red Sea on the South-East.

Egypt can be defined as a verdant and lush oasis, thanks to the Nile Valley, surrounded by arid deserts, among which are the Arabian Desert and the Libyan Desert. Nile is one of the longest rivers in the whole world; it was of huge importance for the development of this community. The entire country shows an arid climate, except for the coastal area facing the Mediterranean Sea, where the weather is more temperate.

This geographical region boasts an ancient important history; in fact the people that lived in this area were very developed compared to other populations of that time. Their relevance can be identified in the majestic and beautiful monuments belonging to Egypt. Giza Pyramid is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, it has been studied and designed according to rigid mathematical theories based on the proportions and built with extremely precisions. The Great Sphinx is the largest monolith statue in the world.

Thanks to its ancient heritage, Egypt attracts several tourists every year. Not only do visitors remain astonished in front of these beauties, in fact they are also enraptured by other cultural attractions. Worth visiting are also the capital city, Cairo, rich in museums and big mosques, and the relaxing maritime resorts, such as Sharm El-Sheikh, a paradise for scuba diving, lapped by a crystal-clear sea and hosting more than 1000 fish species in its coral reef.
