The building, where the Paks Hotel is located, was originally built under the supervision of Chao Boon Oum, the last king of the Southern Laos. In 1962 it became a cinema and a casinò, the meeting point of the city center, it hosted the most important festivals and events for local people. Finally, in 2003 it has been totaly renowed and became a beautiful location in the city center, near the Mekong river, shops and Vientiane's bus stop.
The hotel is only 3 km from the international airport and the connection with Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Bankok and Siem Reap is short and fast.
All the 65 rooms have air conditioning, telephone, internet access, satellite TV, minibar and private bath.
