Guadeloupe - trips and tailor-made holidays

Guadeloupe - Travel tips

Guadeloupe is a Caribbean island belonging to the archipelago of the Lesser Antilles. It is formed by two islands divided by a natural sea channel: Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre. The first one is characterized by mountains covered by a tropical rainforest, while the second is mainly characterized by plains cultivated with sugar cane.

The weather is hot and humid the whole year, the best season to visit the island goes from January to March, because it is a less rainy period and there are no tropical hurricanes. Since the rains are often fast storms and quickly leave the sky free for sun, we suggest to always wear light clothes and bring a thin raincoat in your baggage.

During your tailormade tour or cabin charter sailing holiday in Guadeloupe do not forget to admire the local flora and fauna within the amazing natural parks, such as Parc National de la Guadeloupe, and to taste local dishes, such as Colombo. It is not a real speciality of Guadeloupe, in fact it has been imported from India. Anyway, it is very popular among local people, and mixes the flavours of chicken, rice and curry. Ti Punch, is a local drink prepared with white rum, lime and sugar cane.
