Bahrain - Useful information for your trip

Bahrain is a small country situated on an archipelago of 33 islands near the Persian Gulf, within a cove formed by the Katar peninsula. It's lapped north and east by the Persian Gulf, south and west by the Gulf of Bahrain. Its capital city is Manama and the official language is Arabic.

Most of the islands feature desert plains and the most significant highland barely reaches 122 meters. It doesn't have relevant rivers or lakes. The climate is typically desertic, with very hot summers and very scarce rainfalls. Winter, from December to mid -March, has pleasant temperatures which are slighltly lower than in the summer. There is no middle season between summer and winter.

Famous for its oil and pearls, Bahrain is also home to some huge important structures, such as Bahrain World Trade Centre, Bahrain Financial Harbour and Bahrain International Circuit. The wealth of this country mainly derives from its important oil reserves. Petroleum trade and refining are its main income sources. Bahrein is also considered as a tax haven.

During your holiday in Bahrain, besides the countless luxury hotels and fancy shopping malls for the most passionate shopping lovers, you'll also find long golden beaches and a dream seascape. Cultural sites and attractions are also impressive, for example splendid Al-Fateh Great Mosque in Manama, one of the largest mosques in the world, Arad fort and Qal'at al-Bahrain, or Portuguese fortress, an important archaeological site of the country.
