Some of the main attractions of a trip to Vietnam are the famous terraced rice fields, spectacular crops that shape the landscape of Indochina. Surely one of the privileged places to see them in Vietnam is Sapa, which is why we suggest you include it on your itinerary. An important location as a local trading center, Sapa is also inhabited by numerous ethnic minorities with whom to get in touch, including Hmong, Dao, Giay, Pho Lu and Tay.

Sapa is located in the northwestern part of Vietnam and was founded by the French at the beginning of the twentieth century. Born as a holiday resort, today it is characterized by a beautiful natural landscape (even if modified by tourism), between mountains, valleys and scenic crops.

Sapa's main attractions

Here is what to see during a stay in Sapa:

  • The rice terraces on the slopes of the mountains and hills, grown by the different ethnic minorities living in Sapa.
  • The town of Sapa, with its markets, its cathedral and Sapa lake.
  • Hoang Lien National Park with mini bamboo tress and the highest mountain in Vietnam, Mount Fansipan.
  • The village of Cat Cat, where you come into contact with ethnic minorities living in the mountains.
