How to get a visa for Iran

Even if it’s possible to ask for the visa directly at the airport it’s extremely recommended to get it before departure. You can ask for it at your country’s embassy. If you have visas from Israel on your passport you can’t get the visa.

Iran is an Islamic republic

It’s strictly forbidden to import alcoholics and it’s highly recommended to follow some unwritten laws both in the way you behave and dress. In particular for women it’s necessary to use a scarf that covers head and neck (and some pins to avoid make it stay in place during windy days), long trousers and long sleeved shirts.

For men it’s highly recommended using long trousers while short sleeved shirts are prohibited in all the sacred places but are permitted anywhere else.

A part from these restrictions the population is not fundamentalist as depicted by western medias, particularly in the big cities many of the rules enforced in public are ignored or bypassed in the private houses.
