Guanajuato
Guanajuato is located less than 400 km far from Mexico City. It is a city and capital of the same state and it represents a quaint colonial town nestled in the mountains. Once it was a very active center thanks to the presence of some silver mines, some of which are still active today. These mines were a real livelihood for the local population and made Guanajuato as a strategic trade hub.
It's easy to walk around the streets and tunnels of the characteristic Old Town. These tunnels were used as underground passages to reach the mines and today they offer an inviting atmosphere in Guanajuato.
