This short but intense holiday could be the perfect extension for your trip in Peru. Puno is one of the highest cities in Peru and the fifth in the world, alive with Peruvian traditions and warm local people.
While here on tour you'll have the chance to explore:
Reception at the airport or bus station. Transfer to hotel and overnight.
Breakfast. Today will have the unique chance to cross the highest navigable lake in the world: Lake Titicaca. You will first visit Uros Islands, inhabited by the still living descendants of an ancient race, now attached to the Aymara lineage, whose livelihood is partly supported by tourism.
Continue towards Taquile Island, an island of Quechua Incas whose customs and traditions are still palpable. In the afternoon return to Puno. Overnight.
Breakfast. First thing in the morning and already with the luggage on board, you will visit the archaeological site of Sillustani to appreciate the "Chulpas" or funeral towers on Lake Umayo. Continue to the airport in Juliaca (Puno) or
bus station.
Note: You can add one more day for those wishing to spend a night at the local community (Taquile - Amantani or Capachica).
