This tour will allow you to meet the Bunong people in the province of Mondukkiri. During the tour you’ll have the chance to sleep in the house of a local family, an extraordinary opportuniy to discover the real, day by day, life of Khmer populations.

    Arrival in Phnom Penh, the city mantains its Khmer heritage and the colonial charm. French villas along the tree- lined roads helps us remember why it was once considered the "pearl" of south-east Asia.

    Phnom Penh “Past and Present”

    Visit to the Royal Palace, built by ancestors of King Norodom. Near the palace you’ll be able to see the “Silver Pagoda” with its extensive collection of Buddha’s statues, decorated with diamonds, emeralds, gold and silver. The visits continues with the National Museum. The red building with its nice Khmer architecture was built in 1917 and has more than 5000 works of art. After this we’ll visit the Independence monument, built in 1954 to remember the end of French colonialism.

    In the afternoon, visit to the prison of Tuol Sleng and shopping in the Russian market of Toul Tompong.

    In the night we’ll tour the city by bike, starting from Wat Phnom and moving to the national library and Le Royal Hotel while passing near the French station, Psar Thmei and the elegant roads along the river.

    Another great photo opportunity is a cruise on the Mekong to Tonle Sap (1 hour).

    After breakfast we leave Phnom Penh to visit the beautiful province of Mondulkiri.

    Along the road you can choose to stop in Skoun, also known as “spiderville”, because fried spiders are the local specialty. Are you brave enough to try one?

    Once arrived in Kampong Cham we’ll visit the Nokor Bachey pagoda from the 11th century with statues and images of Buddha.

    On the roads 7 and 76 (220km) there will be the chance to take a look at the natural beauties of the scenery, the mountain forests, the green hills and the vegetation. Arrival in Sen Monorom, the capital of the Mondulkiri province in the first part of the afternoon. Free time and overnight at Sen Monorom.

    We'll start the day visiting the forest, protected from deforestation by the Mondulkiri project. Mr Dy will talk to you about this project before meeting 6 elephants and their masters. You can take pictures, get close, watch and feed the elephants. Lunch and relax on the hammocks, with a marvelous view on the jungle and wildlife.

    In the afternoon you get back at the bottom of the valley to reach the waterfall for a swim. The elephants will follow us to wash themselves in the waterfall. At the end of the day we'll go back to Sen Monorom for overnight,

    To bring for this excursion: Long- sleeved clothes, swimsuit, a towel, a hat and sunscreen, camera, insect repellent, cape for the rain (it will be provided during the rainy season if you don't bring one).

    We will get on the road to Kratie, a small city, with its amazing examples of colional architecture. This small city on the Mekong is characterized by a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. 

    Take a trip at the "Pagoda of the 100 columns" with its beautiful wooden columns. 

    After this you'll visit the Mekong Turtle Conversation Centre where we will have a look at the endangered Mekong's turtles.  

    Later you'll get to Kampi, on a local boat.

    It's one of the rare places where it's possible to take a look at dolphins. 

    We can stop on the hill of Phnom Sombok to have a look at the sunset on the Mekong.

    After breakfast departure for Stung Treng. After a short boat trip along O'Svay we will start our tour to explore the forests of Ramsa near the Mekong from the border with Laos and Stung Treng. It's a unique ecosystem of rainforests, the dream of every photographer! After a couple of hours we will reach the only village in this part of the river, Veun Sien, after a boat trip we will go to Stung Treng. Overnight stay.

    After breakfast, we start our trip to Preah Vihear, crossing the villages and the jungle. We will have a look at wild nature along the way.

    We will get to Preah Vihear by car. Known as temple on the mountain, Preah Vihear is on top of mount Dangrek and was built at the start of 10th centery as a temple to Shiva. 

    The area of the temple is made by three floors and is sorrounded by two galleries.  

    Overnight stay in Preah Vihear.

    We will leave Preah Vihear for Siem Reap. Along the road you'll be able to see the most beauitiful and fascinating Khmer temple: Koh Ker. We will arrive at Svay Leu village and we will start the trekking in the forest from Peuong Komnu. where we will see some works of art excavated in the rock near Phnm Kulen. 

    Our first stage will be the Beng Mealea temple, 90 km from Siem Reap. It's a big and almost pristine structure. Other than this temple we will have a look at a small cave. 

    You'll have one hour to explore the temple. Overnight in Siem Reap.

    After breakfast, we start trekking from our hotel to Ta Prohm, which has become famous from the Tomb Raider film. Discovered by French explorer Henri Mouhout in the 1860, the roots of trees are literally taking control of the structure. 

    Angkor Thom, the masterpiece of king Jayavarman VII, was built in the heart of the empire as a symbol of power.

    The visit starts at the Bayon Temple, built in the middle of Angkor Thom, an expression of the creative and eccentric genius of the most famous King of Cambodia.

    Its 54 towers are all sculpted with the faces of the Buddha of Compassion. These faces will look at you from almost every angle of the temple, expressing power and control.  

    We pass through the terrace of the Elephants from which the king would look on parades. At the southernmost point there is the Baphuon, among the most beautiful temples of Angkor. 

    The tour continues to the Mother Temple: Angkor Wat, which is regarded as the largest religious building in the world. This temple is the perfect blend of symbolism and symmetry, a source of pride and strength for all the Khmer. Built in the 12 th century by King Suryavarman II, this is the most famous temple in Angkor. We venture into Angkor Wat to admire its magnificence, where the mysteries of the basreliefs reveal stories of Hindu mythology and the wealth of the Khmer empire.

    Siem Reap -Tonle Sap

    After breakfast we set off from Siem Reap for Tonle Sap, on the eastern part of the lake. Arrival at Kampong Phluk, the flooded forest, accessible only with the high water that can be seen by boat. Near we will find a village of fishers, where you can learn how to fish in the classic ways. After the excursion we go back to the land. 

    During the evening we visit Phare Ponleu Selpak. Phare is an art school in Battambang

    Overnight in hotel.
